Three core areas of the discipline:
Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, and Finance.
Students study the more advanced Accounting &
Finance topics in their 2 nd and 3rd years, for example,
Auditing, Financial Statement Analysis, and Financial
Management.

It offers a degree course which
is interesting, broad ranging and leads to an exciting
range of careers. Our course explains how the world
of enterprise and work are affected by economic events,
changes in accounting practices and regulation, the
legal environment, marketing decisions and the formulation
of business strategies.
A wide choice of modules is offered so that you can
choose areas of particular interest to you: Accounting
& Finance; Economics; Marketing; Human Resource
Management, Industrial Relations, Industrial organization.

The courses are taught by staff
from different areas of expertise. This modular three
year degree course is built around an introductory
program of study in financial management, accounting
and business economics. These subjects are then applied
to issues central to business financial policy. In
2 nd and 3rd years, students study International Financial
Institutions; Corporate Finance; Government Investment;
Financial and Business strategy.

A joint program. This degree
will entitle you to exemptions from Foundation examinations
of all of the major professional bodies (full details
may be obtained from the School of Management and
Business) if you wish to become an accountant. At
the same time, the economics content of the degree
still forms a strong basis for economics careers.
