| This degree provides you with a sound understanding of risks facing financial institutions, for example, debt-financing physical risks such as storms or earthquakes, and operational risks, including sales variability. The final year builds on your knowledge of strategic management, developed in your first and second years, enabling you to analyse changes in the insurance sector and apply the principles of financial management to financial institutions. You will also develop the skills necessary to identify, analyse and manage risks, and acquire in-depth knowledge of the nature of risk and its application to non-life insurance, including underwriting. In addition, you will gain a sophisticated understanding of risk analysis applications in insurance and risk management, and develop an overview of the structural changes taking place in the UK, European and wider international insurance and reinsurance markets. |
