 City University was founded in 1894 as the Northampton Institute and awarded full university status in 1966. The name, The City University, was chosen to reflect the institution's close links with the City of London. It has almost 10,000 students from 153 countries.

 This degree provides you with a sound understanding of risks facing financial institutions, for example, debt-financing physical risks such as storms or earthquakes, and operational risks, including sales variability. The final year builds on your knowledge of strategic management, developed in your first and second years, enabling you to analyse changes in the insurance sector and apply the principles of financial management to financial institutions. You will also develop the skills necessary to identify, analyse and manage risks, and acquire in-depth knowledge of the nature of risk and its application to non-life insurance, including underwriting.
